What to Expect at Antioch

• ALL are welcome as reflected in our welcoming statement: As a Christ-centered community, we strive to follow Jesus’s words “Love your neighbor as yourself” by providing a safe and welcoming space for all. We welcome you regardless of your age, race, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, disabilities, life experiences, complexities, and questions. Our unity is in Christ.
• Come as you are! Many of us wear jeans/khakis and tee shirts, but some like to dress in suits/ties, dresses and skirts. Wear whatever you are most comfortable wearing!
• Our worship services are typically around 1 hours long. We do tend to switch up the service a few times a year and our hymns are a collection of traditional, contemporary, and “world” (non-European) hymns
• We celebrate Holy Communion at the Lord’s Table every Sunday – all are welcome to commune with us. Gluten free wafers are available, just ask the minister at the communion rail.
• Child Care during Worship – Between the children’s sermon and communion the nursery is staffed each Sunday. Children are invited but definitely not required, to spend that part of the service there. We also have worship bags that children age 2 to 6th grade can take into worship to help occupy them as they participate in learning how to worship. These are found under the children’s table y the main doors going into the worship space.
• Christian Education is dividing between children (3-13), High School, and Adults and takes place following worship. There are times throughout the year that these groups will come together for events and learning experiences. The children meet in the second classroom in the east hallway, the High School Youth are downstairs in the Youth Room, and the adult classes move around but are announced during worship where they will be located.
• Restroom information: We have a gender neutral family bathroom near the office (west hallway), and both the men’s and women’s bathrooms (east hallway) have baby changing tables for your convenience. Restrooms are also available in the lower level.
• We are wheelchair accessible. The covered front entrance is available for dropping off those who cannot walk from the parking lots. Our sanctuary has open places to place a wheelchair so you won’t have to sit in the aisle. If you are unable to go up for communion, ask an usher and the minister will come to you.
• We have listening devices available for your use, along with large print bulletins. Please ask an usher for help.
• Coffee and treats are available every Sunday at our Coffee Nook area following worship. We all like to visit by “hanging out” at the high top tables to enjoy conversation with old and new friends. Please join us!!
